At a glance
- Free Pomodoro timer, no account, 100% in the browser.
- Defaults: 25 min focus, 5 min short break, 15 min long break every 4 cycles.
- Durations, sound and notifications stay in localStorage.
- The countdown uses the clock: switching tabs does not skew the end of a phase.
- Available in French, English, German and Spanish.
(02) — HOW TO
How it works.
01 — Focus
One task. No “quick look” at another tab. The ring drains; at zero, you break.
02 — Short break
Five minutes to move, not to reopen the feed. The brain rests; it does not switch.
03 — Long break
Every four sessions, fifteen minutes. Francesco Cirillo’s cycle, not a sacred rule: change the durations if 25 minutes is not yours.
(03) — FAQ
Short answers.
- Does the timer keep running if I switch tabs?
- Yes. The countdown uses the clock, not a throttled interval: even in the background, the phase ends on time. A sound and, if you allowed it, a desktop notification mark the transition.
- Are my durations saved?
- Yes, in this browser’s localStorage: durations, options, the current session and today’s focus count. Nothing is sent to a server. Another device, or private browsing, starts from the defaults (25 / 5 / 15).
- Do I need an account?
- No. The page is static. No sign-up, no product tracking, no cookie beyond what you already consented to on the site.
- Can I change the 25 / 5 / 15 minutes?
- Yes. Focus, short break, long break and how many cycles before a long break are all adjustable. Values sit between 1 and 180 minutes. A running phase is not recast: the new setting applies to the next phase, or immediately if the timer is idle.
- Does it work on a phone?
- Yes. Buttons are 44 px, the digits stay readable, and “Keep the screen on” requests a Wake Lock (where the browser allows it) so the screen does not sleep mid-focus.
